Marie Claire Zernitz

With Caffe Inc., everything came together for Marie Claire. A start-up, a motivated team, a business related to coffee and making a positive impact made Caffe Inc. a great opportunity for her. Marie Claire has gained a lot of experience working for Unilever and NS Stations, as well as running her own sustainable snacks start-up.

With her background and commercial skills, we look forward to taking Caffe Inc. to the next level with Marie Claire as CEO!

Evaluna Marquez

For Evaluna Caffe Inc. is much more than developing a great idea. It is about becoming pioneers on waste valorization and demonstrating that nowadays waste equals value. Evaluna is determined to share this great circular solution with the world!

Evaluna is a dedicated scientist and entrepreneur who is passionate about the bio-based economy. In 2018, the idea of making printing ink out of coffee waste started. Evaluna brings her expertise in Chemistry and Environmental Sciences to the team. Due to her analytical thinking and experience in the laboratory she manages the development of the CaffeInc technology.

Nicola Lai

Nicola is here to take Caffe inc. to the next level by ensuring regular and high-quality production of upcycled coffee oil from waste grounds.

With a background in Sustainable Technology and Process engineering and industrial chemical engineering, Nicola has experience as a bioprocess engineer in a startup environment. With his passion for sustainability and extroverted nature, Nicola has found a special place in Amsterdam. With Nicola as our Operational Plant Manager, Caffe inc is ready to grow to its full potential.

Nageshvar Patel

As R&D Director, Nageshvar’s visionary approach ensures that Caffe Inc. remains at the forefront of innovation, delivering exceptional coffee oils with the highest standards of quality.

Bringing a wealth of expertise to our team, Nageshvar has a distinguished background encompassing six years of experience in developing rapid and non-destructive analytical solutions, for food quality and safety analysis, Nageshvar is a true innovator in his field. His focus on enhancing plant and dairy protein, lipids, and meat quality demonstrates his commitment to excellence.

Cynthia Staats

Cynthia is here to highlight the benefits of upcycled coffee oil and coffee grounds in cosmetics, and the potential of coffee ink for dyeing clothes. True beauty doesn’t require new resources—let’s make use of what we already have.

With extensive experience in sales, natural cosmetics, and fashion, including her role as a commercial manager at a natural cosmetics manufacturer, Cynthia brings a wealth of knowledge to Caffe Inc. As our Business Development Manager, she’s passionate about upcycled ingredients and sustainability, believing they are the future of the industry.

Elena Benfield

Elena ensures that our workspace and products reflect Caffe Inc.’s dedication to positive change and innovation.

Elena manages  the operations at Caffe Inc., she harnesses her academic background in Sustainability Science and a recent Masters in ‘Sustainable Business and Innovation’ from Utrecht University to infuse our office operations with purpose-driven practices. She ensures that we produce the highest quality coffee oil and blocks and ensures our customers receive the correct ingredients. With an innate passion for sustainability, she ensures Caffe Inc. sticks to our core values, and communicate these goals to our external audience.

 

 

Maria Ciaramella

Maria, is a master’s student in ‘Sciences and Technologies of Industrial Chemistry’ and has joined us as an R&D intern. Since April, she has been working on the valorization and extraction of valuable ingredients from upcycled coffee to create high-value products.

She will be joining us as QC support, to monitor the quality of our ingredients and assist with the upscaling of the production.

Elvisona Gjonaj

Elvisona is here to ensure the coffee oils produced by Caffe inc. are always especially high quality.

Elvisona was born in Albania and raised in Greece where she obtained her bachelor degree in chemistry. With her passion for environmental and social justice, and her background in analytical chemistry, she ensures that high quality ingredients are sent to the market by executing the analyses for quality control. She works with Caffe Inc. alongside her masters in energy and sustainability.

Alberto Franken

Alberto, alongside Mykola, will be validating Caffe Inc.’s food grade products and finding value within the Food and Bevarage industry.

As a final year Process & Food Technology student at THUAS, he will utilize his experience in improving recipe for vegan ice-cream and producing biogas from organic waste.

 

Board of advice

Caffe Inc.’s dedicated core team is supported by an experienced advisory board. Currently the advisory board consists of two members with experience in building and growing sustainable start-ups and companies.

Elfrieke van Galen

Elfrieke van Galen is a sustainability and business expert. She has a legal background and extensive management experience in the logistics and service industries. She has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry as Managing Director of KLM Cityhopper, KLM’s UK CEO, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Communication at KLM. Currently, Elfrieke is partner at TheRockGroup and full fills several non- executive roles.

Daphne Truijens

Daphne Truijens has an academic background in law and philosophy and has 7 years of experience in research-driven innovation. She scouts (academic) research and translates it into accessible information and useful tools, in co-creation with governments and businesses, and empowers the next generation of researchers to do the same!  Former positions include: project manager of the Valorisation Program Rotterdam, project manager Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, Founder of THRIVE PhD Academy, Lead Circular Economy and Healthcare Innovation at SMO.
